COMPASSION part 1 production

COMPASSION is a short film anthology in three parts, written and directed by Jeff Corpening, and produced by Corpening Media. Betsy Cardwell and myself joined Jeff as Producers, and have been diligently working to produce this anthology over the last six months. Part 1 entered and wrapped production on Saturday, June 23rd where we filmed in Asheville, North Carolina.

The day was hot and long, but we successfully captured everything we needed. We had an excellent crew, including the lead actor Victor Hough, Madeleine (1st AD), David Craig (DP), Sam Schumate (1st AC), Brittany Jackson (2nd AC), Robert Gowan (Sound Recordist), Kira Bursky (VFX Supervisor), Sam Zeilender (PA), Askar McMahon (PA), Sophie Berry (BTS photographer), and our gravel transportation team of Jonah Goldwag, Phil Koch, Daniel Ballard, and Mark Sundara.

An amazing day yesterday on our #compassionmovie here in #asheville – so much talent!

THE REPLICA RAID II // pre-production

I am currently in pre-production on my first sequel film. When all is said and done, THE REPLICA RAID II short will be written, directed, and produced by yours truly. If you recall the first installment, THE REPLICA RAID involves an art thief wrapped up in a time loop situation. The shorts serve as filmmaking experiments, especially with their lack of diegetic sound, all created artificially through foley recording.

Jeff Alexander will be reprising his role as the prime thief. My crew will consist of Thomas Goddard as Director of Photography, with additional cinematography by Joey Lee and Betsabe Fregoso Lee. Madeleine Richardson will serve as Editor, Daniel Henry with the stunt car and body double, Braethun Bharathae-Lane as boom op, and an original soundtrack composed by Robert Gowan of Wasted Wine.

I have found a beautiful, dead end cul-de-sac as a shooting location in Candler, NC. Production is set for Sunday, May 20th, with post-production over the summer.
