Dip into the ARTIFICIAL INK

Artificial Ink Creative, LLC is a limited liability company for creative services, specializing in the development and production of trans-media entertainment and intellectual properties, as well as an ever-evolving, experimental project hub to track the visionary endeavors of Asheville, NC based storyteller Ted Kendrick.

Artificial works are produced by people, rather than occurring organically in nature. When breaking away from blueprints, mankind acts as little gods; sometimes in the collaborative spirit of the Greek Pantheon, else-when in the efforts of Artifice, where the fabric of reality can warp in the act of sublime craft. Never strictly Official, always Art, or better; Artificial.

Ink is the liquid used to flow ideas to fruition through writing, drawing, and printing, as well as the verb that solidifies a business contract, and the abbreviation for Incorporated. Artificial Ink Creative merges the worlds of Ink and Inc., and creates Something out of Nothing with digital content from a quality Quill, whether that pen is formed by feather, porcupine, or toothpick.

Ted Kendrick has served as a Creative Executive at Social Construct Films, Marketing Coordinator for Cat Fly Film Festival, and Marketing Director for Escapist Comix. He was an Associate Producer on feature film THE SONG OF SWAY LAKE, and Producer on short film GOOD HAIR with Coki Productions. He contributes to the Watchtower Database as a host on the 12th Level Intellects podcast, and writer on webcomic LEGACIES of the DC Animated Universe. Ted holds a B.A. in Literature from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

CircUS Party 2020 // web series

Over the last few months, I’ve been involved in the development of the CircUS Party 2020 campaign, a mockumentary web series in the style of BORAT and THE OFFICE that will bring the political circus out of Washington and back into the classic setting of the Big Top. The CircUS Party just launched their crowdfunding campaign and are seeking initial funds to produce the pilot episode.

If financed, I would likely continue to assist in the development of the web series by writing and producing. I also ran sound during the production of the Teaser Trailer below and make a brief cameo doing as much in the second video.

The CircUS Party web series is the brainchild of Creatrix Iz Web, a member of the original CircUS Party, Head of Development at Social Construct Films, and Ringmistress of Clan Destiny Circus as well as an experienced acrobatic dancer and aerialist. Iz and I have worked together at Social Construct Films for a few years now and it’s been a lot of fun to watch this concept grow into fruition.

With over 1,000 card-carrying members (most of whom joined at Bonnaroo during the 2012 live tour), the CircUS Party already has a huge online community to facilitate participation in the web-series and prompted organized civic action. Though not an actual political party, the CircUS Party reserves the right to become one at some point and make the run for the White House, or a more localized level of government, similar to comedian Stephen Colbert’s presidential campaign in 2008 where he only ran in the South Carolina primaries.

UPSTAGED // 48 Hour Film Project 2016

Earlier this summer, I participated in the Asheville 48 Hour Film Project as Writer, Producer, Sound Recordist, and Team Leader for F-Stop Fitzgerald.

I was joined by an amazing team of filmmakers including Actress Catherine Wityk and Editor Madeleine Richardson who both worked with me at Social Construct Films. We were lucky to meet Rome Widenhouse a few weeks prior who came onboard as our Director. On-screen talent consisted of Actors Jacob Stephen, Bjorn Goller, Erich Reinhard, Jeffrey DeCristofaro, and the aforementioned Catherine Wityk in addition to many extras. The lovely Brittany Jackson was our Gaffer for light design, Jack Fleming helped as an Assistant Editor, and the one and only Tony Mozz provided sound mixing and an original soundtrack.

We were given two days to write, shoot, and edit the entire short with three elements that every team were required to include: 1) glass of milk as a prop, 2) comedian Andy Stirling as a character, and 3) the phrase “Worst case scenario…” This was all in addition to fitting into a predetermined genre. We received the choice of either Romance or Fable and decided on the latter.

When Jim is scorned by Natalia in a comedy club, he strikes a dangerous deal to win her back. Please find Team F-Stop Fitzgerald’s entry below, entitled UPSTAGED.
